Sizing, Fit & Style

How do I choose the right size in tween swimwear?
We recommend measuring your child's torso length, waist, and hips and comparing to our size chart on each product page. 

Are your bikinis for tweens truly age-appropriate?
Yes- our teen bikini and tween bikini styles use modest cuts, double layers, and secure designs so girls can move freely and confidently without compromising their comfort. Our designs are made so girls can still be active whilst feeling comfortable.

If she’s between sizes, should I size up or down?
It’s generally better to size up, especially for a teen bikini or two-piece, because larger sizes tend to be more comfortable for movement. Our Frill bottoms on the two piece have an adjustable waist band to help with a more secure fit.

Do you only make bikinis?
No, we also offer one-pieces, open-back styles, and sibling swim sets so there’s a style for every preference and comfort level.

Fabric, Protection & Durability

What makes Fernleigh Avenue swimwear different?
Our swimwear tweens love is built with UPF 50+ sun protection, chlorine-resistant, eco-friendly fabrics, and double-layer construction for modesty and durability. Our fabric has been stretch and fade tested to ensure it lasts all summer long.

Will colours fade or fabric sag over time?
Our fabrics are designed to resist fading and sagging even after repeated Australian summers. Many customers praise “beautiful, top-quality fabric” and long-lasting durability. The two layers of fabric (not just a lining) ensure the swimsuit holds its shape and does not become see through.

Are all designs fully lined?
Yes and No, our swimwear is made from two layers of actual fabric not living, giving extra coverage and preventing sheerness when wet. The arms are made from a single layer of fabric to allow freedom of movement.

Care Instructions & Longevity

How should I wash and care for the swimwear?
To prolong longevity, rinse in cold water immediately after use, hand-wash gently with mild soap, and lay flat to dry in the shade. Avoid wringing, bleach, or hot dryers — these can damage elasticity and colours.

How long can I expect the swimwear to last?
With proper care, many families enjoy their swimwear for multiple seasons. Our designs are meant to last longer than just one summer. Make sure to keep them away from abrasive pool edging which can damage the fabric.

Orders, Shipping & Returns

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping fees, taxes, and duties at checkout depend on your location. Please bare with us as we navigate the change rules in the United States.

What’s your return policy if the fit isn’t right?
You can return or exchange within 14 days of receiving your order, provided the item is unworn, unwashed, and with tags still attached.

How quickly do you dispatch orders?
Most orders are packed and shipped within 2-4 business days, and tracking information is emailed to you. Please note the time frame for Pre Orders when order. Whilst we do our best to ensure the stock arrives in this time it is an estimate only. Please get in contact with us if you order is needed by a certain time and we can discuss your options.

What age range is your tween swimwear designed for?
Our designs target girls transitioning from young-child to teen, we cater from ages 4–16 in our tween bikini's, from size 1-16 in our Open Back Swimwear designs and from size 3-6months for our sold back and Rash Top Sets. We aim to offer swimwear tweens and teens actually want to wear.

Do you offer “bikinis for tweens” that look stylish but don’t feel too grown-up?
Yes, our teen bikini collection balances trend, comfort, and coverage. For example, the Rylee Pink Print Teen Bikini is designed for active girls with modesty and confidence in mind.

Can I buy matching styles for siblings?
Yes, many of our collections include matching pieces or sibling sets to create coordinated looks for sisters.

Do larger sizes include modesty padding?
Yes, sizes 12, 14, and 16 include removable modesty padding. It’s designed to smooth developing areas, helping tweens feel more confident and comfortable in their swimwear. This padding can be removed with no altercation to the swimsuit.

Do your board shorts have any special features?
Yes, our board shorts include inner compression shorts to reduce chafing and increase comfort during active play.

Do your swimsuits have features that make toileting easier for young children?
Many of our designs include crotch snaps in sizes 00 to 3, facilitating quick and easy nappy changes or toilet breaks. This feature is especially helpful for toddlers and young children who are still in nappies or undergoing toilet training.

Are your swimsuits easy for children to put on and take off?
Absolutely. Our swimwear is designed with user-friendly features like stretchy fabrics, wide straps, and simple closures, making it easier for children to dress themselves and for parents to assist when necessary.
